Found March 14, 2012 on Kukla's Korner:
PLAYERS: Marty Turco
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
I really want Marty Turco to do well, I really do. It just seems that real life keeps interfering with the coda on his NHL career. I’ve watched Turco play since his days at UM under Red Berenson. The University of Michigan hockey program at that time looked like the place where NHL caliber goalies were trained, polished, and made ready for a long career in professional hockey. That hasn’t quiet worked out as well as hoped, but Berenson ran (and still runs) a first-class program there. Continue reading "Turco-Then and Now"

Jack Edwards Mailbag: Slumping Bruins Can't Give Up Physical Aspect of Game As They Search for Answers

The Bruins are struggling mightily right now, and things didn't get much better on Tuesday night against Tampa Bay. The Lightning pasted both Marty Turco and Tim Thomas -- and then Turco again -- en route to a 6-1 victory. The B's are banged-up and struggling to find their way, and the result looks to be a lack of confidence. NESN's Jack Edwards discusses that and more...

Marty Turco to Get First Start with Bruins, Daniel Paille Returns, Patrice Bergeron, Adam McQuaid Game-Time Decisions Against Lightning

Marty Turco was impressive enough in relief to earn his first start as a Bruin. Turco put in two solid periods of work on Sunday after replacing Tim Thomas against the Penguins, and will get a chance to play a full game Tuesday night when the Bruins take on the Lightning. "I think it's time for him to come in there and help us out," Bruins coach Claude Julien told reporters...

Bruins Assign Lane MacDermid to Providence

Upon arriving in Boston, Lane MacDermid stepped up his game in the wake of some injuries and immediately gained the respect of his Bruins teammates. But the 22-year-old will head back down to Providence for the time being. General manager Peter Chiarelli announced on Tuesday that the club has assigned MacDermid to its AHL affiliate in Providence. MacDermid was recalled on an emergency...

Tuukka Rask Thinks Bruins' Struggles Are Mental, Stresses Importance of Maintaining 'Battle Level' (Video)

This season has been inexplicable for the Bruins. After a Stanley Cup hangover, the B's looked like the best team in hockey for a while, only to then fall back down to earth over the last two months. Goaltender Tuukka Rask, who is sidelined with an abdominal/groin strain, said that he thinks Boston's recent woes have been more mental than anything. He thinks that the B'...

Jack Edwards channels Monty Python

Boston Bruins' NESN play-by-play man Jack Edwards, who you may remember from such on-air moments as "The 12 Days Of Boston Christmas," Tim Thomas, the best goalie on earth!," "Unanimous Decision: Milan Lucic!" and "GET UP!," has found a way to top himself yet again. What's a homer announcer to do when his team's trailing 5-0 after two...

Bruins Searching for Answers After Dropping Third Straight With Lopsided Loss in Tampa

The Bruins have been flirting with disaster for the last couple months, and on Tuesday night in Tampa, everything finally fell apart. Now the Bruins just have to hope they've hit bottom with their 6-1 loss to the Lightning, and that they can use this defeat as motivation to finally turn their season back around. "It's disappointing to say the least," Bruins coach...

Bruins Search for Answers After 'Self-Inflicted Loss' in Florida Pushes Losing Streak to Season-High Four Games

So Tuesday's 6-1 loss wasn't rock bottom after all. The Bruins followed that loss by continuing the plummet after traveling across the Sunshine State, dropping a 6-2 decision to the Panthers in Sunrise, Fla. on Thursday. The Bruins have now lost four straight games for the first time in over two years. Their last losing streak of this duration was part of a 10-game winless...

Tuukka Rask to Make Live Appearance on 'Bruins Face-Off Live' Tuesday Night at 7 p.m. on NESN

When Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask went down with an injury during a March 3 game against the Islanders, it didn't look good. There were plenty of B's fans who feared the young goalie's season would be done, but there's still hope he'll be able to return for the postseason. Rask will be a guest of Dale Arnold and Mark Mowers on Tuesday night, as he'll make...

Send Billy Jaffe, Mark Mowers, Barry Pederson and Craig Janney Questions to Be Answered on 'The Instigators'

Just when the Bruins seemed to have finally turned a corner and were prepared to assert themselves as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, they show off some of their worst hockey of the year. A pair of back-to-back wins in Toronto and then at home over Buffalo seemed to have Claude Julien and the B's back to their early season success. But a visit from Washington...

'Community' Hiatus, Return Could Offer Hint of How to Fix Bruins' Struggles (Video)

The Bruins are struggling along right now, so maybe they just need a hiatus. Maybe a couple of days away from the ice could do the team some good, since this busy stretch of games lately isn't treating them too kindly. NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is running out of other ideas, but this one seemed to work for NBC's Community. Thumbnail photo via Facebook/Community

Bruins Live Blog: B's Look to End Three-Game Skid, Close Out Road Trip With Win Over Panthers in Florida

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins hope they won't be revisiting the winter of 2010. The Panthers would like nothing better. Boston comes into Thursday's clash in Florida having lost three straight games. They haven't dropped four in a row since a 10-game winless streak back in Jan.-Feb. 2010 when they went 0-6-4, including a stretch of five straight regulation losses. The Panthers...

Malkin not disciplined

Another questionable hit on a Boston Bruins by a Pittsburgh Penguin and another Penguin escapes punishment by the NHL. So basically, don't expect a player to get suspended if they hit a Boston Bruin with a questionable hit. I could see how Boston Bruins fans might question the NHL and their judgement. Also, I think that Brendan Shanahan is basically a fraud and no better...

Bruins-Panthers Preview

The Boston Bruins' recent skid has allowed the Florida Panthers to gain ground in the race for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. If the Bruins' recent efforts in this series are any indication, however, a visit to BankAtlantic Center could be just what they need. Looking to avoid a fourth consecutive regulation loss for the first time in more than two years, Boston...
