The Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins might be responsible for the biggest and loudest fireworks during your July 4th holiday. The two teams agreed on a massive trade which will send Tyler Seguin to Dallas and Loui Eriksson to Boston. The trade will also involves a few other pieces, as seen below. Seguin, Peverly and Button to Stars. For Eriksson, J.Morrow R.Smith and Matt Fraser. — Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) July 4, 2013 Wow. Talk about a summer blockbuster.  The rumors have come to fruition. As Boston attempts to lock up Tuukka Rask and Patrice Bergeron with lengthy, expensive contracts, Seguin suddenly appeared to be an available asset. However, it was still believed Seguin would start 2013-14 in Boston unless the Bruins had a trade offer they simply couldn't refuse.  Clearly, they found a trading partner with assets they couldn't refuse. Typically we try to immediately figure out who "won" a trade. That's nearly impossible in most cases as it takes years to evaluate how different prospects and picks pan out. Here it's a bit easier since we're dealing with some NHL proven players. On first glance, this is a successful trade for both teams. Isn't that usually the idea when you make a trade? The Bruins clear some salary out by dealing Seguin and Peverly and they acquire one of the league's most underrated players in Eriksson. For Dallas, they bring in a young star with loads of upside and a center who should help improve the Stars down the middle. Why would Boston trade away their 21-year-old star? It appears issues away from the rink were a big factor. According to CSNNE, team officials were concerned with Seguin's late night partying during the regular season. The Bruins weren't impressed with Seguin's attitude and commitment and were searching for a deal during the 2013 NHL Draft.  This trade is a risky one for Boston. While clearing up cap space is important, the key piece heading Boston's way is significantly older than Seguin. Eriksson turns 28 on July 17th while Seguin won't turn 22 until January. Eriksson is the more proven and tested forward, but we've probably seen him at his best. Seguin carries a tantalizing upside, but the forward needs to get his act together. If he does, we might be forced to re-evaluate this trade and label the Stars as the big winner.  [follow]
