Next up on the UFA Preview series is Viktor Stalberg of the Chicago Blackhawks. Once July 5 rolls around, if he is not re-signed by his current team, he is open to conversing and signing with any team in the league.
Viktor Stalberg | RW
6'3" | 209lbs
1/17/86, Age: 27
Signed in 2009: 2-years, $1.5 million; $850,000 per year cap hit
Signed in 2011: 2-years, $1.75 million; $875,000 cap hit
Projected Earnings Next Season: $1 - $1.5 million
It is questionable if Viktor Stalberg fill that empty role of a tope six forward for the Nashville Predators. Undoubtedly he is an excellent bottom six forward, but he is in that odd stage of his career where coaches just aren't sure if he is top six material yet. Surely, he can reach that point eventually in his career.
Stalberg is a 6'3" speedy forward. A speedy big guy equals disaster and destruction for the other team. Just last week, Stalberg won his first Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks. His effect on the game didn't show in the statisical section, but he did make an impact in every game he was in, whether it was using his body or playing hard-nosed hockey.
Predators' head coach Barry Trotz would love to have Stalberg on his roster. The Malmo, Sweden native is a hard worker, something Trotz loves and adores.

The Chicago Blackhawks signed Bryan Bickell to a four-year deal reportedly worth $16 million. That's a handsome raise for a guy with just 90 points in 220 regular season games. Apparently Chicago's focused on the nine goals and 17 points he collected in 23 postseason contests. That 18.4 shooting percentage isn't likely to stick around, but he could still be fantasy-relevant...

One of my favorite themes here at AA in the last year has been unearthing Finnish hockey calls. Why Finnish hockey calls? Because Finland, obviously. And because they're awesome. We've seen a couple throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but this video from Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final may be my favorite foreign language clips in the history of this website. Six...
Chicago Blackhawks owner, Rocky Wirtz, says there is no reason why his side cannot win more silverware after they secured their second Stanley Cup in four seasons. The 60-year-old has been in charge of the Blackhawks since 2007 when they were in the middle of a barren run that saw them fail to reach the playoffs for five successive seasons. However, progress was made in 2008-09 when...
