LOS ANGELES – Martin Erat registered four shots on goal Saturday night in Los Angeles, but the Nashville Predators were only able to put 21 shots on Jonathan Bernier in their 4-2 loss to the Kings. Bernier now has a 6-1-0 record against the Predators. “They play desperate, good hockey. They forecheck hard and they play tight defensively. It is really hard to play against them,” Erat said about the Kings. Nashville only had 5 shots in the first period and 7 shots in the final frame. With less than eight minutes to play in the third period, the Predators had still only registered one shot on goal in the period. Head Coach Barry Trotz said the Predators were not able to shoot the puck on net, even when the opportunity to do so was there. “They do a real good job holding the line. We could have had a few more shots. We had some good looks, but we kept putting it over into the glass all the time. We would put it wide, or over the net.” Los Angeles opened scoring at 7:53 into the first p...

Creating A Winning Way In LA

from Doug Ward at LAKings.com, It’s a familiar refrain, as predictable as the changing of a season. Whenever an owner, general manager, or coach takes over a team, the first goal is always the same: Change the culture. It was no different when Dean Lombardi stepped in as the Kings’ President/General Manager in 2006. Lombardi inherited a Kings team that, after finishing 10th...
