After struggling for much of the season, Ilya Bryzgalov, Flyers Goaltender, seems to be finding his game at exactly the right time, but could an injury derail him?

Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly tweeted last night that red hot Flyers’ goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was “limping badly” after last night’s 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. There are even reports saying that Bryzgalov had an X ray after the game.

The Flyers have not announced an injury officially, but this report is cause for great concern. Bryzgalov had an up and down first 5 months of the season, but has been stellar recently. He is one of the reasons that the Flyers appear poise to make a good run in the playoffs. I don’t have to tell any Flyers fans about the state of disrepair at goalie in years past.

It seemed like we were headed for more of the same this season, but then Bryz stepped his game up and turned it all around.

At this point, it is all speculation, but if the Flyers were to lose Bryz to an injury now, it could really be a blow to their playoff hopes.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
