Howard Berger: Leafs/Canucks on Different Planets

VANCOUVER (Feb. 19) – If it weren’t so utterly predictable, it might be appropriate to express alarm over the Maple Leafs total capitulation at Rogers Arena on Saturday. But, why waste our time? Even the most rabid follower of the Blue and White understood that confronting the white-hot Vancouver Canucks in their den had the potential to be an appalling experience...

Of course you can type in fantasy RTs to your favorite hot chick on Twitter. Just follow Edmonton Oilers D Ryan Whitney’s lead on how to get in Kate Upton’s virtual pants: fake RT her. Richard Cloutier: Should the Oilers Deal Gagner to the Kings?

Last night's topic was discussing if the Oilers should move Ales Hemsky. Today, it's Sam Gagner's turn. I like Gagner. Hard worker. Very committed to winning. You get full effort from Gagner every time he steps on the ice. He certainly has a high hockey IQ and he owns a set of sick hands. Gagner isn't in the same class of player as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor...

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Canucks blog: love ’em & hate ’em

Saturday Night’s All Right For Scoring There’s always a ton of hype when the Toronto Maple Leafs come to town. Whether you like it or not, they are the focal point of Canadian hockey, and bring with them prime-time coverage on CBC and the largest hockey market in North America. There’s also the implicit rivalry that runs these games, though the vitriol stems more to city to...

Richard Cloutier: Why is Everyone So Eager to Deal Ales Hemsky?

Let's forget for a minute about how lukewarm Ales Hemsky's season has been. Forget about his bad luck in recent seasons with injuries. Even forget that he's seeking a four or five season contract extension from the Oilers at $5mil per to stay put in Edmonton. All I want you to consider is Ales Hemsky, the hockey player. The guy who likes playing in Edmonton and ideally...

Can You Say 23 In A Row At Home?

Paul subbing for George… Not much to say except this win streak sure is fun. Next home game is Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks (Detroit in Chicago on Tuesday) so another tough opponent.
