The Majors Detroit:
After blowing a three goal lead in the third period, things were certainly looking down for the Wings who were hoping to tie the series up with the Ducks heading back to Detroit for Game 3.
However a power play and a fresh sheet of ice in overtime helped Valtteri Filppula find and open Gustav Nyquist who buried the shot behind Jonas Hiller giving the Wings a 5-4 win… a huge relief for the team that could’ve been decimated mentally if they were to lose this game.
The news though wasn’t entirely good for the Wings. After the game it was learned that young defenseman Danny DeKeyser – who has really stepped up in his short time with the team – will be lost for the rest of the season with a broken thumb.

Meanwhile Johan Franzen, who had two goals tonight and has really turned it up as of late will be fine after taking a late hit in the game.

The Detroit Red Wings appeared to be cruising to evening up their series with the Anaheim Ducks. Then the Ducks seized momentum by scoring three unanswered goals to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 4-4 tie with 2:22 remaining in the third to send the Honda Center into a frenzy. Red Wings coach Mike Babcock gave the kid quite a compliment as the regular season closed, saying his team's 22nd consecutive appearance in the playoffs is in part due to the signing of Western Michigan's Danny DeKeyser in late March.
Now the Red Wings will have to play the remainder of the postseason without the DeKeyser.

For the Red Wings to advance in these Stanley Cup playoffs, goalie Jimmy Howard must be better.
Especially now that rookie defenseman Danny DeKeyser is out for the year with a broken thumb. Since his arrival late in the regular season, DeKeyser has stabilized the defense, and his loss will be difficult for the Wings to overcome, unless Howard elevates his game.

Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry is an enigma -- a gifted scorer who has an edge but can't seem to play a clean, physical game.
During the second period of the Ducks' 3-1 victory over the Red Wings on Tuesday, Perry skated across the Wings crease, in between goalie Jimmy Howard and defenseman Nik Kronwall.
Perry, in trying to avoid Howard, leaped up in air and clipped...
