I can't say that I agree with this suspension at all.
Earlier today, Flyers' forward Brayden Schenn met with Brendan Shanahan about his hit on Anton Volchenkov in the second period of last night's contest. The video, shown below, is Shanahan's description of why it is deserving of a one-game suspension.
Volchenkov spoke with Schenn after the game as well, and told him that it was a "good, clean hit."

Brayden Schenn will sit one game for his hit on Anton Volchenkov. Schenn came off the bench and skated right to Volchenkov, let his feet and targeted the head and upper body. No penatly was called on the play.
Well that didn't take lone. Just three days into the lockout shortened 2013 season, Philadelphia Flyers forward Luke Schemm is the first player suspended by Brendan Shannahan. Actually, I have no problem with the suspension and this suspension should set the tone going forward.
