Sergei Kostitsyn takes 30 minutes in misconducts, flips off the crowd; Rinne gets a .97 sv% in 2-1 win; Hornqvist gets 3 goals but sees team drop a game 10-3.    For last week's edition click here Sergei Kostitsyn vs Pekka Rinne Rinne's team and Kostitsyn's team faced off on Monday. The game featured a very confusing end and it was a game the the Officail KHL network oddly decided not to have internet highlights for.  Rinne's team won 3-2 in Overtime, with Kostitsyn getting only 2 shots and no points and Rinne earning a .94 sv %. But the really interesting stuff came at the end of the 3rd period where Kostitsyn is mugged in front of the net, the camera follows the puck to the other end and then, breaks and shows Kostitsyn leaving the ice, giving the fans the American Salute. This is weird but made weirder by Kostitsyn's comments this week about loving the KHL and hoping the lockout will last forever. See the first video for full highlights. See the second video and skip ahead to 5:35.  I could not find any information on it except for this google translated russian text "should be noted that the game overshadowed unpleasant episode associated with the Belarusian striker Omsk "Avangard" Sergei Kostitsyn. The forward left the area after the third period, receiving a disciplinary penalty (10 +20 minutes) because of the conflict with the fans "Dynamo". Descending into podtribunnyh premises, Sergei Kostitsyn showed the audience the finger." Here are the videos.    Skip to 5:35 for the Kostitsyn incident.  Pekka Rinne Rinne had a good week, playing 3 games and winning 2 of them in OT. In the highlights above you saw one win, but watch Rinne stand on his head in this 2-1 OT win over Barys Rinne is in Blue 1:12 for a really nice Assist by Joe Pavelski 4:56 Goal on Rinne, Powerplay.  6:28 Rinne saves a Penalty Patric Hornqvist Patty H had a good week in the Swiss B league. He had 2 goals in a 5-4 win over the Lions and a third goal in a 4-3 loss. He then didn't dress for the final game of the week, where his team lost 10-3 to Olten. Not sure why Hornqvist didn't dress, he finished the game the night before and didn't appear to be injured (looking into it).  Hornqvist goal at 3:38 Craig Smith, Roman Josi and Sergei Kostitsyn all had very slow weeks, getting only 2 assists between the three of them. As such I will supplement the rest of this post with Prospect highlights from the past two weeks.  Brent Andrews - Halifax Moosehead.  The Moosehead have now won 13 games in a row. Here is a goal and an assit by Centerman Preds Prospect Brent Andrews, he is # 79 in Red and scores in the very first clip. He has an Assist at the 0:23 seconds     Sorry for the lack of highlights this week. The players didn't step up. I will definitely try to get my hands on more information about the Kostitsyn incident! Have a good week everyone, and I will see you on election day.
