Boston's resident badass and thespian Shawn "Wayne" Thornton took part in Holiday Pops by narrating "The Night Before Christmas", mostly to show Milan Lucic how acting is supposed to look like. Thornton: Fighter, Sniper, Thesian. You know somewhere Andrew Ference and Tyler Seguin were just waiting to see this video. We were impressed that Thornton didn't break out into You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch in honor of Jeremy Jacobs. (Not sure what Jon was on when he made this) Of course, this isn't Thornton's first brush with acting. He's done car commercials (I SAID RED!) and was in Ted... and in Dropkick Murphies music videos.  What will Twos do next?

Shawn Thornton Narrates ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ at Boston Pops Holiday Concert (Video)

Shawn Thornton would normally be in the midst of a hockey season, dropping his gloves with any willing combatant. The NHL lockout has put any stop to those plans — not that the guys on the other end of Thornton’s fists are complaining — but a guy needs something to do while his job is on hiatus. And maybe, just maybe, Thornton found a new career path after his days in the NHL...

Ty Anderson: Jacobs' War: Will free agents avoid Boston after lockout?

Last week, the Boston Bruins' most loyal fans, their season ticket holders, were given a complimentary tour of an empty Bruins locker room, and were even allowed to take a photo with the 2011 Stanley Cup banner. During their tour of a locker room that's been devoid of B's players since April, without any of the B's equipment in any of the stalls, the sad reality set...

Hamilton, Subban and Camara on Canada Preliminary Roster

Dougie Hamilton (2012 1st round, pick 9), Malcom Subban (2012 1st round, pick 24) and Anthony Camara (2011 3rd round, pick 81) have been named to Team Canada's Preliminary World Juniors roster.  Hamilton is currently killing it in the OHL right now and it even furthers my frustration about the NHL Lockout. There was a chance that Hamilton would've played for the Bruins...

Relive Game 4 of the Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup Final Against the Canucks Wednesday on NESN

The TD Garden was rocking in Game 3 thanks to the Bruins’ 8-1 thumping of the Vancouver Canucks that drew the B’s to within a game of evening the series. It turned out that it was only a preview of more to come. Rich Peverley broke open the scoring midway through the first period of Game 4, and the B’s once again made Boston a very difficult place for the Canucks to play as...

NHL Lockout Taking Toll on TD Garden, Nearby Businesses’ Revenue

NHL players and fans aren’t the only ones suffering from the lockout. According to the Boston Globe, bars and restaurants surrounding the TD Garden are losing between $850,000 and $1 million per game since the lockout began over 80 days ago. So it seems that players aren’t the only ones losing money due to the lockout. The Bruins organization would certainly love to see the players...

Bruins, Rangers Among Teams That Would Benefit From Shortened NHL Season (Video)

No, there is no NHL season yet, but if there was one, the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers would have a good shot at taking home Lord Stanley’s Cup. While the NHL and NHLPA continue to meet at the bargaining table, fans and analysts can only speculate about what an NHL season may bring. NESN’s Andy Brickley and Fox Sports’ Kevin North debated who has the upper hand in the...

Kevin Youkilis Returns to Boston for Youk’s Kids Charity Event Alongside Shawn Thornton, Tuukka Rask (Video)

Kevin Youkilis was back in Boston and doing what he does best on Thursday. No, Youk wasn’t hustling down the line or working the count. Instead, the gritty infielder was giving back to the community by taking part in his annual charity event. Youkilis’ charity, Youk’s Kids, aims to create a community of support, increase awareness and advocate for the health and well-being...
