NESNWith Tim Thomas electing to take a year away from the NHL during the 2012-13 season, Tuukka Rask is poised to become the starting goaltender for the Bruins as they shoot for a second Stanley Cup in three seasons. Rask seemed unsure what to make of Thomas' departure, but he appears determined to block out any extra attention he might receive because of it, remaining focused on his job stopping pucks. NESN's Naoko Funayama caught up with Rask on at the Jimmy Fund Clinic, where Rask visited with patients on Thursday.Read more at: http://www.nesn.com/2012/08/tuukka-rask-visits-jimmy-fund-clinic-prepares-for-life-without-tim-thomas-video.html

Tuukka Rask was caught off guard - just a little - when he heard fellow Bruins goalie Tim Thomas decided not to play next season.
Shocked? Not so much.
''I wasn't expecting him to do that, obviously,'' Boston's new starting goalie said Thursday at a charity event. ''But I really appreciated what he's done and I appreciate his...
Tuukka Rask says he was surprised when he heard that fellow Bruins goalie Tim Thomas had decided not to play next season.
But he's not shocked.
Boston's new starting goalie said Thursday he wasn't expecting Thomas to skip his last season under contract with the Bruins. But he said he appreciates Thomas' decision to want to be with the family and take some time away...
This is Tuukka Rask's team now. When Tim Thomas made the decision that hockey wasn't for him anymore, at least not for a year, the Bruins became Rask's team. It's not like it hasn't been his before, though. Rask, who has spent much of his career in Thomas' shadow was once the No. 1 when injury and inconsistency banished Thomas to the bench. Rask made 39 starts...
We may be in the NHL offseason, but the Boston Bruins are still working hard. Only this time, they traded in their skates for life jackets as the Boston Bruins hosted their sixth annual harbor cruise. Fans joined former members of the Boston Bruins on a cruise to raise money for the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Bike Team. Among the former Bruins on board were Lyndon Byers and Jay...

Who else but Barstool would be right on top of this budding Massachusetts love affair. Raisman a native Masshole, is a huge Boston Bruins fan….. and it seems like Seguin, who has been dominating chicks behind the scenes, may be looking to dip his wick into some gold. I think it’s a done deal if Seguin signs up!
A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced that Miroslav Satan would return to the NHL next season after spending the last two years back in Europe. The New York Islanders appear to be the best fit, both then and now. Satan still has a residence on Long Island and there is a scoring line role to be had with the free agent departure of P.A. Parenteau.
Officially, the 37-year-old Satan remains...
Gotta love Bruins star Tyler Seguin MELTING the hearts of women in person and through the internets. His latest “victim”, U.S. Gold Medal winning gymnast and Needham’s own Aly Raisman.
Here is the Twitter LOVEFEST between Tyler & Aly:
@tylerseguin92 thanks really excited to watch you play this season!
Stuck in the dog days of summer as we hit August, Boston Bruins blogger Ty Anderson will be writing a blog of your choice in regards to the Bruins, NHL, or anything related through (hopefully) all 31 days of hockey's worst month. To send a request, forward it on over to Ty's email (TAndersonBruins@gmail.com), Twitter (@_TyAnderson), or private message him via your HockeyBuzz...
@tylerseguin92 thanks :) really excited to watch you play this season! — Alexandra Raisman (@Aly_Raisman) August 1, 2012Aly Raisman is the local girl from Needham, MA who captained the U.S. squad to the team gold medal a couple days ago. Seguin's tweet didn't help her in the all around finals tonight as she ended up in 4th.
The Bruins offered St. Petersburg kicker/punter Sean Covington earlier today. He's one of the nation's top kicking specialists.
