Tyler Seguin netted 29 goals in 81 games last season, but Bruins fans are hoping the young sniper can get close to — if not past — that number again this season, despite just 48 games expected to be on the B’s  busy schedule. Seguin posted four multiple-goal games a season ago, including a two-goal game in the regular-season finale and a hat trick against the Maple Leafs in early November. The winger will have to get on some hot streaks if he’d like to eclipse the 20-goal plateau in the shortened season, but after scoring 25 goals in just 29 games in the Swiss League, Seguin looks like he’s ready to start making some noise in the NHL’s scoring race. Putting more pressure on Seguin this year is Andrew Ference, who recently made a deal that he’d plant 50 trees for every goal Seguin scores this season, basically putting the future of Mother Earth on TS19′s shoulders. How many goals will Seguin score this season? Vote below and check out Tuesday’s NESN Daily to see the results. Take ...

Tyler Seguin Lived Like a Frat Boy in Switzerland

Boston Bruins star Tyler Seguin is young, rich, and a Stanley Cup champion. He's very successful and talented on the ice, but when it comes to cleaning your house, he's pretty awful at it. Swiss tabloid, Blick, reported that Tyler Seguin pretty much lived in a dirty frat house during his time in Switzerland. The tabloid reported that Seguin tried to wash his clothes in the...

Chris Kelly Wears Tyler Seguin’s EHC Biel Jersey During Practice (Photo)

The NHL is moving closer to getting back on the ice, and that’s good news — especially for some players who might be running low on laundry. Chris Kelly wore Tyler Seguin‘s EHC Biel jersey during the Bruins’ informal practice session on Wednesday morning, complete with all the bright colors and shiny advertisements that come with it. “Seggy’s stock just went down,”...

Tyler Seguin ‘Blown Away’ By ‘Untrue’ Allegations That He Lived in Filth, Trashed Swiss Apartment

Whether it was averaging nearly a goal a game on the ice or grappling with famous European wrestlers off the ice, Tyler Seguin‘s tenure with EHC Biel in Switzerland sounded like it couldn’t have gone any better. But then he left, and that’s where things went south. Earlier this week, while Seguin was Stateside preparing for the NHL season with his fellow B’s, a foreign tabloid...

Could Tim Thomas play for the Bruins in 2013?

Is there a chance that Tim Thomas could play for the Bruins in 2013 Now that the NHL Lockout is over, it’s time to start talking and writing about hockey again. For our first topic of the shortened off-season, I present to you a theory brought to me by my good friend Ryan Sullivan. At some point during the fall, when the NHL lockout was getting depressing and we were probably drinking...

Johnny Boychuk’s Austrian Team Only Let Him Drink Red Bull

Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk spent a majority of the NHL lockout playing for EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian league. If you were to guess that Salzberg, a team sponsored by the Austrian energy drink company Red Bull, were to make the beverage a large option in their team hydration strategy, you would be wrong. It was the ONLY option. It may be a while before Johnny Boychuk...

Report: Thomas not looking to return

The NHL lockout may be over, but that doesn't mean Tim Thomas will be returning to the game any time soon. TSN's Bob McKenzie tweeted Sunday that the Bruins goalie is happy with how life is going in Colorado, and he has no interest in returning to the league to finish his contract. Said to be content/happy living with his family in Colorado, Thomas not interested in fulfilling...

Cam Neely Thinks Bruins Can Benefit From Having So Many Players in Europe During Lockout

The Bruins would seem to be at an advantage as a lockout-shortened NHL season approaches. For starters, the Black and Gold were one of the best-represented NHL teams in Europe, with 11 members of the team opting to wait out parts of the lockout by playing in Europe. While no one will mistake European action for the NHL, there’s no denying the advantages of staying in game shape...

Bruins Can’t Afford Another Slow Start, Must Play More Consistent in Shortened Season

The Bruins dropped a 4-2 decision to the Canadiens on Oct. 29 of last season, a setback that hurt reasons extending beyond the fact that it was a loss to the hated Habs. The loss dropped the Bruins 3-7 on the young season, leading everyone to the assumption that the Bruins had fallen victim to the dreaded Stanley Cup hangover. The good news, though, was that 10 games represented...
