What’s the biggest news out of the 2012 Winter Classic besides the 50-degree temps and the likelihood that the ice at Citizens Bank Park will be slush? How about the 1-2 WAG force the NY Rangers bring to the Classic behind LW Brandon Prust & C Brad Richards. Prust has been flaunting French import Marie-Pier Morin on HBO’s 24/7 while Richards has turned into a tabloid célébrité thanks to his burgeoning relationship with G4′s Olivia Munn.

We started to research this project and figured out pretty quickly that this Winter Classic WAG-off was pretty one-sided. Sure, we could throw some random WAG from the Flyers into the fray but it wouldn’t even be fair. Munn’s legacy is pretty well documented, while Marie-Pier is starting to gain traction within the hockey establishment via her growing gallery of French TV appearances.

But it was this week’s 24/7 that sent Internet observers into a frenzy because she was skating with Prust while wearing some furry hat and looking like she just stepped out of Vogue. (24/7 Episode 3 – follow directions to watch.)

Sure, there are a couple of random cute chicks floating around the Flyers & Rangers WAG private boxes, but let’s remain focused on these two chicks that are about to dominate 2012 WAG-dome via Monday’s game. You’ve been warned, NBC. Gratuitous shots, please.

Not So Breaking News: Sean Avery Placed On Waivers

As predicted here, Sean Avery has been waived by the Rangers. This is a salary cap move, as Avery and his $1.9 million salary needs to be cleared, especially if he’s not even playing. We covered this here, here, here, here, and here. I’m actually incredibly sick of this topic. Avery has become bigger than the team, which is impressive considering he’s a fourth liner. He barely...

Rangers focused on getting two points

PHILADELPHIA – There was one term that came to mind when seeing the New York Rangers’ approach to the Winter Classic: Businesslike. Rangers/Panthers Recap

In a game that could have been easily overlooked in the wake of the Winter Classic on Monday, the Rangers took it to the Panthers 4-1 in their final tune-up before heading to Philly.  After a rocky outing against the Caps, the Rangers bounced back and played a very smart game and grabbed a little momentum to take to Citizens Bank Park.  Onto the bullets… The name of the game...

The New York Rangers (22-9-4) defeated the Florida Panthers (19-12-7) by the score of 4-1, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports....unreal start to the game for the Blueshirts, but looked like the team started focusing on the Winter Classic as soon as they built the 3-0 lead and relied on Hank to take this one home.
