Jose Theodore, currently an unrestricted free agent goalie, has quite a bit of NHL experience. Since the start of the 1995-96 season, Theodore has played 648 games, earning 286 wins with a career 2.68 goals against average and .909 save percentage. Now, he’s added another impressive feat to his career resume: catching a stray tennis ball, and doing so with style. Theodore, a Quebec native, was in attendance at the final match of the ATP Rogers Cup between Rafael Nadal and Milos Raonic. With Raonic serving to bring the first set back to 5-2, Nadal hit Raonic’s serve into the crowd, and right over to Theodore, who made a phenomenal standing save in the crowd while saving his phone and beer. Fast forward this video to the 33:00 mark to see this save. Theodore is a right-handed goalie, so as you can see above his glove hand is still capable of making a show-stopping save every now and then. Perhaps this will spark some interest among teams looking for a backup goalie. Follow us on Twitter – @ATRSportsKings Around the Rink Columnist Joe Ray – @joeray119 [H/T Eye on Hockey]
