Gotta hand it to those hockey players... Even a 5'10", 185-pound career minus-45 journeyman is decidedly in the plus column with the ladies.
Former Flyer Mike Comrie and girlfriend Hillary Duff got engaged this week while on vacation in Hawaii. Comrie played 21 games with the Flyers in '03-'04, with 5 goals and 9 points. The Flyers acquired Comrie for Jeff Woywitka and two draft picks—a first rounder that became Rob Schremp and a third rounder that became Danny Syvret, whom the Flyers traded for in the 2008 offseason. Kind of a big haul for a guy who would only play 21 games in Philly right? Well, Comrie was quickly dealt in another multiplayer trade, netting Sean Burke, Branko Radivojevich, and the rights to Ben Eager in return.
Comrie is currently playing his second stint in lovely Edmonton, one of the five teams he's played for in his NHL career, which started in 2000.
