The hockey world is buzzing this morning about Alex Ovechkin's perceived blow up near the end of regulation in last night's come-from-behind victory over the Anaheim Ducks. After learning he wouldn't be on the ice in the teams' final (eventually successful) attempt to tie the game, Ovechkin sat down and looked more than unhappy. But what did he say?   Top ten things we think Alex Ovechkin said on the bench after learning he was benched:   10. "I disagree with your decision. I’m just saying it in Russian. And Sasha’s ears got red because he’s overheated. Yeah, that’s it…" 9. "I wonder what Mike Keenan would say about this?" 8. "All I wanted was to draw a puppy on the whiteboard…" 7. "STOP LAUGHING AT ME NEUVY! I’M SHOOTING AT YOUR MASK IN PRACTICE!" 6. "Nick is never gonna let me live this one down…" 5. "All I ever hear is how great Brooks is at this and how great Brooks is at that. Brooks, Brooks, Broo...

Capitals Pull A Rabbit Out of the Hat to Beat the Ducks in Overtime

Several weeks ago, after his team beat Georgia, South Carolina’s football coach Steve Spurrier said that sometimes the team that plays the best game doesn’t win.  That was clearly the case last evening at the Verizon Center.  The Anaheim Ducks, in the middle of a seven game road swing, clearly outplayed the Capitals for at least 45 of the 60 minutes of regulation, yet ended...

Alex Ovechkin drops F-bomb on Capitals coach

Alex Ovechkin wasn't thrilled about not being on the ice in the waning minutes of Tuesday night's game against the Anaheim Ducks. Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau justified sitting him by saying that he didn't think Ovechkin would score the tying goal. Weird thought seeing as though Ovie has scored 50+ goals in three of the past four seasons. What'd Ovie think of...

Caps' Ovechkin upset with move, but supports it

Two-time league MVP Alex Ovechkin says he was upset when he was left on the bench for the final moments of regulation in the Washington Capitals' come-from-behind 5-4 win over Anahiem. But Ovechkin says he also understands why coach Bruce Boudreau did it. Boudreau sent out another line - without Ovechkin - after pulling the goalie with a one-goal deficit in Tuesday night'...

Alexander Ovechkin Calls His Head Coach a "Fat F--k"

A very accurate description. Well said, Alexander.

Alex Ovechkin Doesn’t Care for Benching, Calls Bruce Boudreau a “Fat F–k”

With 1:27 remaining in their game against the Anaheim Ducks, and trailing 4-3, Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau called timeout to draw up how his team might go about tying the game in order to send it to overtime.  Surprisingly, Boudreau’s plans didn’t include resident superstar Alexander Ovechkin. Ovie clearly didn’t care for being left on the bench to sit and watch his teammates...

Coach hurts Ovechkin's feelings, Ovechkin returns the favor

Don't you dare hurt Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin's feelings by taking him out of the game in crunch time. The Caps went on a scoring bing and put together a 5-4 comeback win in overtime. What part did Alexander Ovechkin play in the nice...
