Found January 21, 2013 on Kukla's Korner:
from Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun, Several NHL teams, including the Vancouver Canucks, will not be travelling this season in quite the style to which they have become accustomed. All seven Canadian NHL teams and a handful of other U.S.-based teams use Air Canada's Jetz executive-class charter service to travel during the season. The aircraft are outfitted with first-class seating throughout the cabin, or at least they were. During the recently concluded National Hockey League lockout, Air Canada reconfigured five of its six charter jets and sent them back into regular passenger service. That leaves just one plane that is completely outfitted with first-class seats. Goodbye leg room. continued

How the Canucks should handle the Schneider/Luongo fiasco

Well, Cory Schneider’s debut as a starting goalie in the NHL didn’t exactly go as planned. Schneider let in 5 goals on 14 shots and was yanked from the game in the middle of the second period. Cue the drama, as Roberto Luongo stepped in to replace him. The media began licking their chops. How will this affect Schneider’s confidence? Is Luongo a better goalie? Does this make...

Memo to Gillis & Vigneault…Get on the same page regarding Cory Schneider!

At least get in the same book Cory Schneider failed to deliver the opening night performance general manager Mike Gillis was hoping for as he attempts to deal away the Vancouver Canucks more expensive goaltender. Roberto Luongo may have been expected to be start Sunday’s second of back-to-back weekend contests, but the context of his early return to the net on Saturday couldn...

Three New Potential Luongo Trading Partners

We’re now 3 days into the NHL season, and Roberto Luongo is still a Vancouver Canuck. But for how long? Cam Cole’s article in the Vancouver Sun shed some light on just that. Mike Gillis has a reputation as being a bit boring and a little standoffish with the media, but every now and then he offers up some insight or clues as to what is going on behind the scenes. In an interview...

Ducks vs. Canucks: Not exactly home cooking was it?

Game On Well that was underwhelming. After all the hype and build up, the Canucks first game of the year was absolutely the worst case scenario. It gets better (I hope). Here we go with the love ‘em & hate ‘em! Love ‘Em 1. Rick Ball No Mark Lee. No Kevin Weekes. Even if Kelly Hrudey wasn’t the best in the booth, Rick Ball was more than adequate. Won’t miss those two...

Safe to say this wasn’t a part of “the Canucks 2013 plan”

Home cooking can make you sick The weekend is over and the Canucks have started the season 0-1-1. Hit the panic button, right? While some people already have, I would imagine, it could have been a lot worse. Yes – I said that, despite being outscored 9-5 in regulation, it would have been a helluva lot worse. Lets take a minute and pretend that this is October and the Canucks come...

Canucks turn to G Schneider vs. Flames

The Vancouver Canucks are going with goalie Cory Schneider when they host the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. Schneider started Vancouver's season opener on Saturday against Anaheim, but was pulled after allowing five goals on 14 shots. Roberto Luongo played the rest of that game and then started the Canucks' 3-2 shootout loss to Edmonton on Sunday. Luongo, the Canucks'...

Vancouver Canucks create goaltending controversy

Vancouver Canucks general manager Mike Gillis could have moved goaltender Roberto Luongo before the season started but opted not to, citing the middling trade offers that came his way.So this distraction dragged into the 48-game season. Coach Alain Vigneault started Cory Schneider in Game 1 and the results were disastrous. The Canucks fell to the visiting Anaheim Ducks 7-3, thanks...

Oilers vs. Canucks: Not as bad as the opener…I guess

Love ‘em & Hate ‘em Yeah, the Canucks are back. In their most frustrating form. Not exactly the weekend Canucks fans were waiting on. After the worst case scenario played out Saturday night, the Canucks were thrown back into Rogers Arena for the young and hungry Edmonton Oilers. The good news: It wasn’t as bad as opening day. Technically, it was their best game of the year...

World’s most attractive Vancouver Canucks fan: Cobie Smulders (pics)

This site’s third highest ever single post is a collection of ten extremely attractive Canadian female celebrities.  I came up with the idea upon returning from the Great white north this past Canada Day. Canadian actress and former model Cobie Smulders, known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky on the CBS television series How I Met Your Mother . The 29 year old is an avid Vancouver...

Canucks Must Improve Their Play

from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province, One night after their perturbing effort against the Ducks, the Canucks did check off a few more boxes against the Oilers but if they think what they offered is good enough, they're delusional. Oh the goaltending with Roberto Luongo was better, even if that juicy little storyline isn't going anywhere. The team game was also...

Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames moments in time…

Time to Renew the Rivalry Good afternoon, folks. The Canucks and Flames meet tomorrow and whenever these two teams get together, you can’t help but think of their rivalry, or the rivalry that once that once was. Over the years Vancouver’s dominance in the North West division and the rest of the teams out right crapping of the winning games bed, it would appear that rivalries...

Flames-Canucks Preview

Cory Schneider's first season as a No. 1 goalie in the NHL didn't get off to an ideal start. He'll get a chance to bounce back along with the rest of the winless Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night against the visiting Calgary Flames, who are still seeking their first point. Schneider started Vancouver's season opener Saturday against Anaheim, but was pulled after...
