Boston, MA – It seems like it happened just yesterday. It was early April, and the 2013 NHL trade deadline loomed. The Boston Bruins sat firmly entrenched in a playoff spot, but were caught in a slump of inconsistent and generally uninspired play. The masses grew restless and it was up to GM Peter Chiarelli to make a move and bring in some reinforcements. The night before the deadline the B’s were in a dogfight with the Montreal Canadiens, and on the other side of the continent Jarome Iginla was held out of the Calgary Flames lineup, a trade imminent for the future hall-of-fame winger. As the Bruins lost to the Habs, Boston fans went to bed thinking that at least Iggy would be wearing the spoked-B soon enough, and hopefully give their team the shot of energy they desperately needed. Well, we all woke up and Jarome had decided to head to Pittsburgh. Just over a month later, the once snubbed B’s faithful watched their squad sweep Iggy, Crosby and the rest of the Penguins right out o...

Boston Bruins: Dougie Hamilton, the mystery man

The Bruins know all about injuries, and how they affect a team’s chances to take home the ultimate prize. One of the best things they learned this past post-season is that no matter what the age of the player, they’re still capable of performing at a high level.  At one point during the playoffs, the B’s roster had to have three rookie-defensemen skate onto the ice, which...

There’s more to Milan Lucic than meets the eye. Bruins 90th Anniversary Patch One of Many Uniform Add-Ons in Team History (Photos)

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States, chock-full of history. Bostonians take pride in their distinct accents, rich history and sports teams so it should come as no surprise that the Boston Bruins are just as proud of their past, too. The Bruins were founded in 1924, making them the third-oldest team in the NHL and the oldest in the United States. They boast six...

Boston Bruins: Overall Off-Season grade to this point

It seems that almost every team in Boston has been rather busy this off-season. The Bruins made a tough decision to send Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverly to Dallas in exchange for Loui Eriksson (along with other players), they acquired...
