from Craig Custance of The Sporting News,
It has been assumed since the day the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup. Probably even before that. Chicago goalie Cristobal Huet won’t be back with the team, mostly because of his salary cap hit of $5.625 million the next two seasons.
Now, agent Stephen Bartlett is working feverishly to find a way to keep Huet in the NHL. And that won’t be easy.
“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see the price he’s earning versus the conditions in the NHL make it tough,” Bartlett told Sporting News. “I haven’t given up. I realize the end of the line may come at some point.”
Bartlett described his relationship with the Blackhawks as partners working together to find a reasonable destination for Huet, who continues to handle a difficult situation with his usual class.
