This was especially the case when longtime Red Wing great Nicklas Lidstrom decided to call it a career and Brad Stuart headed west for family reasons. Going to camp the Wings as it stands now will go in with Niklas Kronwall, Kyle Quincey, Ian White, Jonathan Ericsson, Jakub Kindl and Brendan Smith as their only NHL ready defensemen. However it’s vital the Wings add another defenseman before the team heads north to Traverse City in which General Manager Ken Holland also acknowledged.
