from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province, It’s all over twitter. It’s the talk of talk radio. We did a Google search of “hate Vancouver Canucks,” on Thursday and got 589,000 results.
I mean you almost expected to pick up the Globe and Mail and read a 64-point header: “Barney the Dinosaur says: ‘I hate the Canucks, too.’ ”
Never mind that Angus Reid published a survey on Thursday in which the Canucks were tied for third (with Ottawa, don’t get us started on Ottawa), behind Toronto and Montreal as the NHL’s most hated Canadian-based franchise.
The idea that the Canucks are the NHL’s most hated team has been repeated so many times it’s now accepted as fact….
We will give you the organization, which sees a sniper behind every grassy knoll, doesn’t help itself. And the Canucks have players — Ryan Kesler, Max Lapierre, Alex Burrows — who’ve earned reputations as divers and chirpers (Note to Kesler: Stop with the theatrics. You’re too good a player and the refs don’t buy it,

VANCOUVER, Canada -- Greetings from Vancouver, where only one of the Sedin twins was on the ice for the Canucks game-day skate in advance of Wednesday nights first-round playoff opener against the Kings.
Coach Alain Vigneault said afterward that Daniel Sedin, who has a concussion, won't play Wednesday. "This is a unique injury and you have to take it day by day," he...
NWSB Insider and Vancouver Canucks blogger C-Mac chimes in with his thoughts on the disgrace that was game 1 of the Western conference quarter finals last night in Van City. Fun times ahead? He can't see Daniel Sedin ready to come back following some less than promising reports on post-practice headaches, so the team needs to focus on staying with five-on-five play in which they...
This is a perfect example why the Vancouver Canucks are one of the most hated teams in the NHL. I mean this is pathetic, there is no reason a North American Hockey player should be playing the game this way. This is not the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation, this is the NHL, the best hockey league in the world.
I want to be clear, diving in hockey to draw a penalty is poor sportsmanship...
from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province, Over the last 40 or so springtimes, Vancouver Canucks’ fans have been preconditioned to expect a certain amount of unpleasantness and as they contemplated their team’s prospects in 2012, they were likely aware further trials awaited.
But this? This? Even in their darkest moment, the most tortured member of the faithful couldn’t have...
That’s how The Province newspaper described last night’s Vancouver Canucks 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings: Beyond belief.
But that’s the beauty of the playoffs. Anything can happen.
It was expected the Canucks would go into this series against the 8th-seeded Kings with a competitive advantage based on momentum, overall skill set, and home ice advantage.
The Los Angeles Kings got the first, second and last laughs on Wednesday night, topping the Canucks 4-2 in Game 1 of their playoff series. First, it was a Habs-esque embellishment by Ryan Kesler in the third period, tied 2-2, that would make even the softest soccer fan cringe. Then, during the closing seconds, it was Mike Richards (who had a goal and two assists) cleaning out Boston...
I could spend a lot of time giving you reasons why I hate the Vancouver Canucks. If you read this blog during the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, that hold the Canucks in a very low regard, but I am not alone. There is so many reasons why and so little space to cover all of the reasons. All you have to do is type Hate Vancouver Canucks on Google and you will get thousands of hits...
I'm so stoked to go to the game tonight!!! I have a feeling tonight we will win 2-1 in double OT!
Even though she's played less games than Jeff Carter, Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck has been voted best newcomer at The Royal Half... finishing a few points ahead of Dustin Penner's Sad Face. You can check out her in-depth "Know Your Opponent" series here and here. You see, Brigitte is a young woman who can't afford a therapist to work out her issues...

Vancouver Canucks fourth-liner Byron Bitz was whistled for a boarding major and a game misconduct for his second-period hit on Kyle Clifford of the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday.
Clifford eventually exited the contest with an upper body injury for the Kings, who stunned the top-seeded Canucks with a 4-2 victory in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.
Playoffs start tonight and here are my picks for the first round.
Vancouver vs LA
Homerism will prevail here no matter what but this series comes down to two elements: can Vancouver's defesne withstand the pounding the large LA forwards will deliver and can Quick win the games for LA while they continue to figure out how to score?
Intangibles: Daniel Sedin, Jeff Carter...
In last year's playoffs, the Canucks drew one of the toughest first round opponents they could have asked for in the Chicago Blackhawks and barely made it out of that series alive. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to them this season as they will be taking on the Los Angeles Kings in what should be one of the most anticipated matchups of the first round.
Now, the Kings...
