I'm going to let you in on a little secret. When I told you guys back in the beginning of June that I was taking a break and MAYBE it would be for good, I was lying.

I had absolutely no intention of starting the blog back up. It was over. I was at peace with my decision and no one was going to change my mind.

Then the e-mails, tweets, Facebook messages and comments started to pour in. It was beyond any reaction I could have ever imagined. Yes, I knew the blog was popular and expected a few pleas from readers to keep The New York Rangers Blog going, but what I received was so much more than that.

These were heartfelt messages from readers telling me how much the blog meant to them. Fathers telling me it had brought them closer with their sons and vice versa. Families recalling stories about sitting around the computer enjoying my game recaps together. The blog had become part of your daily life.

Then family and friends, who read these comments, began to encourage me to rethink my decision to close up shop. They wondered how I could shut something down that has had such a positive effect on so many people.

I guess I was so busy updating the blog, responding to e-mails and Tweeting out the latest Rangers news, I never took a second to look around and fully comprehend the impact this blog had on the Rangers community.

Well, I'm happy to say because of your support and praise, shutting the blog down for good turned into just a three week vacation.

It also helps that I really did miss doing it. Especially the interaction with fellow Rangers fans, which has always been my favorite aspect of doing the blog.

Everything happens for a reason. The time off really gave me a chance to reflect on the blog and how it could be better. Hence the additions of Adam Herman and James Wrabel.

From the reaction so far, you guys have been more than ecstatic with the job they are doing which has included original content, exclusive interviews and just a fresh perspective on our Blueshirts. And that's just in the first few weeks. We're working on even more ideas to continue to make this the number one spot for everything Rangers.

I have always contended that this blog is nothing without its readers, and that statement has never been more true than with my decision to resuscitate the blog. And for that I thank you.

I'm pumped to be back, and from the traffic this month it looks like the readership is back. So get ready for what should be a very special and historic season for our New York Rangers. I know The New York Rangers Blog is.
