SAINT PAUL, Minn. The Minnesota Wild on Wednesday called up defenseman Tyler Cuma from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League under emergency conditions.
Cuma, 22, has recorded nine assists and 42 penalty minutes in 68 games with Houston this season. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound native of Toronto has never appeared in an NHL game. He was selected by Minnesota in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2008 NHL draft and will wear sweater No. 65 with the Wild.
