The Wild's 2022 sixth-round pick Servac Petrovsky has opened the 2024 World Junior Championship in blazing-hot fashion.

In Slovakia's opening three games of the tournament, Petrovsky has scored five goals and registered another three assists, leading his nation to a perfect 3-0-0 start in Group B. Petrovsky's eight points leads the tournament.

Petrovsky had three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in Slovakia's 6-2 tournament-opening win over Czechia Tuesday, followed by a one-goal effort in the team's 3-0 win over Switzerland Wednesday. On Friday morning, Petrovsky added four more points with a pair of goals and a pair of assists in Slovakia's 8-4 beatdown of Norway.

The top spot in Group B will be on the line Sunday when Slovakia takes on Team USA, led by Gophers sophomore Jimmy Snuggerud who has four goals and one assists at the time of this writing.

Minnesota selected Petrovsky with the 185th overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft. Playing for the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League, Petrovsky has 10 goals and 18 assists this season. Over the previous two seasons the 19-year-old forward has scored 52 goals and 57 assists for the Attack.
