ST. PAUL, Minn. Following Wednesday night's scrimmage at the Xcel Energy Center, Minnesota Wild coach Mike Yeo said he wanted to get down to his regular-season roster as soon as possible.
The moves started Thursday when Minnesota reassigned defenseman Steven Kampfer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. The Wild also activated forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard, who's been practicing with the team, from the injured reserve list. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that forwards Nick Palmeiri, Jake Dowell and Stephane Veilleux were also put on waivers, leaving 22 players on Minnesota's training camp roster, including 18-year-old, 2012 first-round draft pick Mathew Dumba.
"We have to go back right now and make some decisions," Yeo said after Wednesday's scrimmage. "As quickly as possible I'd like to get down to our group. (Dumba's) one of those guys, for sure."
