ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild announced Saturday that it has recalled defenseman Steven Kampfer and center Chad Rau from Houston of the AHL. Kampfer, 23, was acquired from the Boston Bruins in exchange for defenseman Greg Zanon on Feb. 27. Kampfer recorded two assists and a plus-6 rating in 10 games with the Bruins this season. He also had five points in 12 games for Providence in AHL action. Kampfer skated in 38 games for the Bruins in 2010-11, posting 10 points. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound former Michigan Wolverine was twiced named to the All-CCHA Tournament Team. He was Anaheim's fourth-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Kampfer will wear sweater No. 38 with the Wild. Rau, a 25-year-old Eden Prairie native, has posted a pair of game-winning goals in seven games with the Wild this season. The 5-foot-11, 184-pounder has recorded 24 points and a plus-3 rating in 48 games with Houston this season. He was selected by Toronto in the seventh round in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Rau, who was signed as a free agent by the Wild in 2010, wears No. 36 for Minnesota.
