The Minnesota Wild have cut ties with James Sheppard, dealing the young forward to the San Jose Sharks for a third-round pick in the 2013 draft.Sheppard is coming off a major knee injury that cost him all of the 2010-11 season. The 23-year-old is a restricted free agent.Sheppard was the ninth overall pick in the 2006 draft but has yet to do much in the NHL. He has 11 goals and 38 assists in 224 career NHL games while playing mostly on the Wild's third and fourth lines.
