FRIDAY'S STORY LINE: With two days off between games in Vancouver and Calgary, the Wild headed up to the beautiful resort town of Banff, Alberta. Banff is nestled amidst the gorgeous Canadian Rockies and provided the perfect setting for team-bonding. "I think it is good you are kind of away from Calgary away from the city. You get to come to a resort town and get away," Wild defensemen Nick Schultz said. The Wild flew into Calgary from Vancouver late Wednesday night, then boarded a bus for the 80-mile drive to picturesque Banff on Thursday morning. "It is perfect timing for us right now," forward Devin Setoguchi said. "Not take to totally take your mind off hockey, but just spend some time together as a team and talk about your family and friends." The Wild have had a rough schedule of late, going 1-7-3 in the last 11 games. The trip to Banff not only provided the team with the opportunity to bond but also gave it a mental break."I think it is just a change to get out of Calgary, it is just mentally good to get away," Schultz said.In Banff, the Wild were able to escape a little bit without losing site of the task at hand: Saturday's game against Calgary. Coach Mike Yeo put his team through hard practices both Thursday and Friday. "We can still got our practices in and did the work that we need to do," Schultz said.
