(AP Photo/Donna McWilliam) By Rhys Richards (@RREsq) On Thursday night, Detroit superstar Pavel Datsyuk accomplished another in a long list of feats, awards and accolades; Zdeno Chara surprised several commentators when he chose Datsyuk first overall in the 2012 NHL Fantasy Draft. Daniel Alfredsson quickly confirmed what the majority of NHL players already knew: Datsyuk is one of the best players in the game that anyone drafting a team would be thrilled to take first overall. After picking Datsyuk, Chara said, “He is an unbelievable player. I admire the way he plays.” Later, Chara told the press, “I remember we had a game against [Datsyuk] in Boston and he was on a short-handed situation and made two or three guys look like Peewees… He just does stuff that really makes you go, ‘Wow, that was special.’” Detroit is a perennial threat to win the Stanley Cup and Datsyuk is a perennial threat to win any of the NHL awards for individual acco...
