NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Justin Williams scored twice to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-4 victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night. Drew Doughty, Matt Greene, and Trevor Lewis also scored to help Los Angeles win its third straight. Patric Hornqvist scored twice and Martin Erat and Sergei Kostitsyn had the other goals for Nashville, loser of two of its last three. With the score tied 3-3 after two periods, Greene put the Kings ahead at 1:15 of the third on a slap shot from the right point. Lewis had a tap in from just off the left post at 3:00 to make it 5-3. Hornqvist's 20th of the season pulled the Predators within one with 5:18 to go. Williams has 15 goals on the season, and three in his last three games. He has five points in three games against Nashville this season. Predators goalie Pekka Rinne was removed after Lewis scored. The NHL's leader in goaltending victories gave up five goals on the 24 shots he faced and was replaced by backup Anders Lindback. Erat tied the score at 2 at 9:16 of the second with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that beat Kings goalie Jonathan Quick on the short side. Mike Fisher had an assist on the goal for his 400th career point. Doughty put the Kings ahead with 7:39 to go in the period and Kostitsyn tied it 3-3 with 5:55 remaining. Williams scored the game's first goal at 6:16 of the opening period. From just below the goal line to the right of the Nashville goal, he sent the puck toward an out-of-position Rinne and the puck bounced off the goalie's right skate and then tricked across the line. Hornqvist tied it with 1:19 left in the period with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Quick high to the glove side. Williams put Los Angeles back ahead 12 seconds later. Driving toward the Nashville net on the left side, he got just enough of Slava Voynov's pass from above the right circle to put it over Rinne's right pad. It was the first time since Feb. 7 the Predators allowed more than one goal in the first period. NOTES: Los Angeles D Rob Scuderi played in his 200th consecutive game. ... Kings D Willie Mitchell had two assists Tuesday, his second multipoint game of this season. ... Nashville LW Andrei Kostitsyn has three points in his last two games. ... The Predators have not scored a power-play goal in their last four games.

Video: Tom Hanks, wife on LA Kings kiss cam

One of the highlights of every game in Los Angeles seems to be the kiss-cam. I blame this on the fans, of course… but I digress. At a recent Kings game Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were unable to escape the grasp of the kiss-cam. It happens just after the 50 second mark of the below video. Will Ferrell still owns the LA kiss-cam with THIS GEM. via Puck Daddy Article...

Newcomers make presence felt in win

It didn't take long for Nashville's new additions to chip in. During Nashville's 3-1 victory over the Florida Panthers, left wing Andrei Kostitsyn scored a goal, while center Paul Gaustad and defenseman Hal Gill both had assists. Kostitsyn also notched an assist. There were some questions on how both Gaustad and Kostitsyn would fit in after the trade deadline. Kostitsyn...

Rookie King rising star for Los Angeles' offense

When Michal Rozsival was whistled for cross-checking to set up a Los Angeles power play with 90 seconds remaining and Phoenix leading 1-0 on February 16, coach Darryl Sutter opted to send out hulking 6'3, 234 pound rookie Dwight King, who had recorded two points in his eight previous NHL games. The power play was unsuccessful as the Coyotes edged the Kings in the first of two...

Paul McCann: TN High School Hockey's Frozen Four is Tonight!

Sloppy, unfocused, undisciplined. All could describe last night’s wild 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, the Predators first home regulation loss since very early January. While the Predators were able to keep LA’s top line off the scoresheet, the combo of Justin Williams and Trevor Lewis was too much for Nashville to handle… Next up is the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow...

Significance of playing at home is “huge” for Nashville

One word was repeated when the Predators were asked about the significance of the team’s current three-game homestand: huge. Eight points back of first place St. Louis Blues, the Predators are only four points ahead of sixth place Chicago. “It is huge. Everytime you are at home it is important, especially now with the playoff race coming down to the wire with teams being so...

VIDEO: Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson enjoy a kiss on the LA Kings “Kiss Cam”

This is much cuter than the time Madonna was featured on the Kiss Cam and she made out with her over-inflated sense of self worth. The Los Angeles Kings are just one of many pro teams that employ the Kiss Cam during breaks in the action, probably because it’s cheap, fun, and the fans seem to get a kick out of it.  So it only makes sense that when a Hollywood power couple like...

Lowest Scoring Team

For most of the season the Los Angeles Kings have been the lowest scoring team in the league.  Likely that is what motivated them to trade for Jeff Carter.  Recently they have lost their position as the lowest scoring team in the league.  The Minnesota Wild has even fewer goals per game.  LA has 2.12 goals per game (that is a reduction in their scoring rate since I first wrote...
