As we wait for more UFA news to trickle in...I thought it would be a good idea to keep you abreast of the US National Team developments. But only because we have three players from the Detroit Red Wings organ-i-zation that have received invites to the camp. 1 Forward 1 Defenseman 1 Goalies I would assume that the goalie was an obvious one...as Team USA will actually have the strongest trio between the pipes out of any country in the world.  However...could you tell me which forward and which defensemen would be invited off the top of your head in less than three seconds? Make the jump to find out who got the call from Uncle Sam (the good kind)... Justin Abdelkader Danny DeKeyser Jimmy Howard Surprised?  Maybe at first...but you really shouldn't be when you think about it.  Abdelkader has proved that he can be a most useful mammal when put on a line with high-end talent.  He is finding his Sparty Scoring Touch again and provides some much needed grit that worked for the US in Vancouver. Danny DeKeyer's star is continuing to rise as he obviously impressed more than Mike Babcock with his limited play at the NHL level...I can't wait to see what the kid does for the Winged Wheel with a full season. And of course, Jimmah!  Who has proven to be an upper echelon goalie over the past few seasons.  No doubt he will be in contention for the #1 spot between the pipes.  He has the skill and -maybe just as important- the mental fortitude to play big in high pressure situations. Only 48 players - according to NHL.com - were selected to attend camp in Arlington, VA next month. What do you think of our three boys?  Any shot for Abby and Danny D?  I suppose Jimmy isn't an absolute lock since he'll be competing against two incumbents (Jonathan Quick and Ryan Miller) as well as Craig Anderson from Ottawa. Should be interesting...
