We met Central Michigan senior Jake Taylor this morning on YouTube. It seems he was up to his normal superfan routine the other night at a CMU women’s basketball game when some photojournalism student bothered him with a media request. Jake isn’t your normal superfan who only bandwagons the men’s team. He’s out there causing havoc at women’s games with his maroon suit, loafers and fuzzy hat.
We know a panty dropper when we see one.

Premise of Video: These college students are required to create ‘photojournalism’ clips for class assignments. Instead of investigating frat party beer bong 64-team tournaments, some chick named Brooke takes a different approach. She actually chats up the scary dude wearing the maroon suit at a 12-12 CMU women’s basketball game. That’s right, this bro rocks that outfit for a .500 women’s team.
Climax of Video: Seriously, no crew helping him cheer on the team?
Conclusion: Women’s basketball in the MAC appears to be catching on. Eight...

Hemsky On The Trade Block
The NHL trade deadline is February 27th. It is two and a half weeks away. One of the big name players who is likely to be moved is Ales Hemsky of the Edmonton Oilers. The Edmonton media is writing pieces to prepare their fans for this inevitability. This is likely not such a smart move. Tyler Dellow writes two intelligent pieces on this situation here and here.

Oilers 4, Senators 3, OT
Taylor Hall scored 17 seconds into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Richard Cloutier: Old Guy, Other Old Guy, & Benched Guy Win
Add me to Twitter! @rdcloutier
Things didn't start out to be pretty for the Oilers during today's Edmonton/Ottawa game. After a bad shift, the Hall/Gagner/Eberle line was benched for most of the first period. After a few brilliant saves, Nikolai Khabibulin let in a laugher from the point. As usual, the old guys were out there constantly, and they weren't doing anything...
Richard Cloutier: Trades! Explosions! Kung-Fu Grips!
In Wednesday night hockey action, Sam Gagner beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-0. Unfortunately, the rest of the Oilers lost to the Detroit Red Wings by 0-4.
Here's a bunch of random comments on the frustration that is the Edmonton Oilers.
- Eberle is in the Top 10 in league scoring, and Sam Gagner is ripping up the NHL right now. Yet, five Oiler forwards had more ice-time during...

Doubled Down Again
Oilers lose 4-2 to Red Wings
At least Sam Gagner has been on fire lately. With two goals from Gagner, the Oilers may have been shutout by the hockey giant Red Wings. But, thankfully for the Oilers, Gagner has been incredible lately. Incredible enough to make many forget then he only had 5 goals up until a week ago. Now, he has 11.

Pääjärvi Scores!
Oilers beat Senators 4-3 in Overtime
Finally. That has to be what was on Magnus Pääjärvi’s mind as he looked to the sky, his shoulders finally relaxed. It took 35 NHL games, but Paajarvi has scored his first NHL goal of the season and hopefully now, more will follow. You never know what will spark offensive offence or strings of goals, just ask Edmonton Oiler Sam Gagner.Continue...
