For two periods on Friday night, the Bruins looked to be asleep at the wheel, stumbling to a 2-2 game against the Islanders.
Then, in the third period, the B’s woke up, scoring twice and securing another two points in what’s been a red-hot start to an abbreviated season. The man who gave Boston the lead for good was the captain, Zdeno Chara, who relied on his wicked-hard slapshot to put the pick over the shoulder of Isles goaltender Rick Dipietro. However, it was the Bruins’ puck-possession game that started the play, playing some hard-fought hockey and winning battles in the corner.
