Bruins' players seemed pretty disappointed and fed up with the losing after Thursday's 6-2 loss in Florida. Tim Thomas and Zdeno Chara were a few players to express their disappointment outwardly and explain that they have higher expectations for the team. 'Green Machine' Tim Thomas Proves Automatic in Shootout Win as Bruins Snap Losing Streak (Video)

It wasn't pretty, but it was pretty great to finally win again. The Bruins snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers, ensuring that everybody in Boston can have a happy St. Patrick's Day. NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is pretty sure that Tim Thomas is automatic in shootouts at this point, whether there's any magic at play here on the...

Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate and is expected to get the start. He has appeared in 10 straight games, including...

Jack Edwards channels Monty Python

Boston Bruins' NESN play-by-play man Jack Edwards, who you may remember from such on-air moments as "The 12 Days Of Boston Christmas," Tim Thomas, the best goalie on earth!," "Unanimous Decision: Milan Lucic!" and "GET UP!," has found a way to top himself yet again. What's a homer announcer to do when his team's trailing 5-0 after two...

Grindin Gears: SO FULL OF RAGE Edition

Last night I was sitting on a terribly uncomfortable, flame retardant couch with a bunch of adjudicated youth who couldn't give two ***** about hockey outside of the fights. Do you know what it's like to watch a hockey game with six baby criminals asking "Yo Greg, when dey gonna beef?!"? It's a ******* miserable experience that I wouldn't wish upon my worst...

Zdeno Chara, Dennis Seidenberg Reuniting on the Blue Line Helps the Bruins Turn Around Their Fortunes Once Again

BOSTON – Last spring, with the Bruins desperate to get back into their opening-round playoff series with Montreal after dropping the first two games at home, Claude Julien put his top two defensemen together. The combination of Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg quickly became the most dominant shutdown pairing in the league and played a key role in Boston’s run to the Cup. Things...

Steven Stamkos Corrals Bouncing Puck, Stuffs It Past Tim Thomas for 49th Goal of Season (Video)

Steven Stamkos reached the 50-goal plateau for the second time in his four-year career on Tuesday, as he buried his 49th and 50th tallies of the season in Tampa Bay's lopsided victory over the Bruins. Goal No. 49 showed off Stamkos' excellent hand-eye coordination and patience. The 22-year-old corralled a loose puck, brought it behind the net and slipped a wraparound past...

Bruins Inconsistent Performances Continue to Impact Odds to Repeat as Stanley Cup Champions

The Boston Bruins started the week off so positively. By the end of it, they’re back to where they started: scratching their heads about the exact same problems. The Bruins picked up two wins on Tuesday and Thursday, and then finished it up with two bad losses on Saturday and Sunday. Questions about their consistency, Tim Thomas’ goaltending and their ability to play with the...

Who Saw This Coming?

from Sam Carchidi of Broad Street Bull, Raise your hand if you thought this was going to happen three weeks ago: Boston’s Tim Thomas, the NHL’s best performer as he led the Bruins to last year’s Stanley Cup, would be struggling mightily, while Ilya Bryzgalov would be the league’s hottest goaltender. That’s what I thought. I don’t see many hands. In March, Thomas _ whose...

Jack Edwards Mailbag: Slumping Bruins Can't Give Up Physical Aspect of Game As They Search for Answers

The Bruins are struggling mightily right now, and things didn't get much better on Tuesday night against Tampa Bay. The Lightning pasted both Marty Turco and Tim Thomas -- and then Turco again -- en route to a 6-1 victory. The B's are banged-up and struggling to find their way, and the result looks to be a lack of confidence. NESN's Jack Edwards discusses that and more...

Boston Bruins stage epic collapse

The Boston Bruins are dead in the water. Dead!“Teams aren’t beating us, we’re beating ourselves,” Bruins coach Claude Julien told reporters after his team lost at Florida 6-2. “That’s what’s disappointing right now, we’re beating ourselves. That’s not taking any credit from their team , that played well. But we know our team better, and our team is much better than...

Defending champs fading in second half

The Boston Bruins once looked invincible – and that seems like a long time ago. From the start of November through January 12, the Bruins went 25-4-1 in one of the best 30-game stretches in recent memory. Yet, aside from that great two-month run, last spring’s Cup champs have looked average at best. Now it’s time for the team, losers of a season-high four straight, to look...
