Oilers claim G Hovinen off waivers from Flyers
The Edmonton Oilers have claimed goalie Niko Hovinen off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday.
The 24-year-old native of Finland played in 16 games this season with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL. He went 4-6-3 with a 3.14 goals-against average and an .889 save percentage.

On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers claimed tree-like goaltender Niko Hovinen off of waivers. Hovinen was part of the Philadelphia Flyers, spending most of this year playing in the ECHL. The 6' 7", 200lbs 24 year old was previously playing for the Lahti Pelicans of the Finnish League.

The Trenton Titans ran their 2012-13 record to 3-0-0 tonight with a 3-1 win over the Reading Royals. It was a costly victory for the Flyers' ECHL affiliate, however, as Flyers goaltending prospect Niko Hovinen sustained an injury early in the second period and did not return to the game.
