PETR SYKORA RUMORS & GOSSIP
Over the last few days several reports have surfaced about Jeff Vanderbeek not being able to pay off debts and that he may lose majority ownership of the team if he doesn't pay them off soon. That, as many of you have seen, has led to a lot of speculation surrounding the franchise. Today I'll touch on that situation as well as unrestricted free agent Petr Sykora.
One of the better free agents remaining in terms of both production and expected asking price, Petr Sykora, is still available waiting to be plucked up by an NHL team. Sykora's goal is to re-sign with the Devils, and that still appears to be a possibility. Here are some notes on that, and some other Devils related topics.

The New Jersey Devils agreed to terms with veteran right wing Petr Sykora on a one-year contract Wednesday.
The deal is worth $500,000 for Sykora, who has not played in the NHL since undergoing abdominal surgery in February 2010, when he was with the Minnesota Wild.
Sykora, 34, was brought in by the Devils on a tryout basis and scored a pair of goals in four preseason games.
New Jersey has agreed with Petr Sykora to terms of a one-year deal, completing the former Devils' bid to return to the NHL after an 18-month absence.
The 34-year-old forward said after practice Wednesday that he was happy to be rejoining the team that had selected him in the 1995 draft.
