Palisades Tahoe, CA, has a new rail jam event lined up for this weekend, as well as Tahoe Truckee Earth Day and the kick-off to Spring Tracks Music Series with G Love.

While most people know Tahoe, Truckee is an incorporated town in Nevada County, California, United States. The population of Truckee was 16,180 as of the 2010 census, an increase of 2,316 from the 2000 Census. However, the music series is a popular event. You'd never know the size of the nearby town from the crowd at Palisades Tahoe. See below.

While Truckee may be small, it's jam-packed. If you've ever been, it's vaguely reminiscent of Colorado mountain towns, with the store-lined streets and mountain backdrop, but the town is the 316th largest in California and 21st largest in the United States.

Fun facts aside about Truckee, the rail jam at Palisades Tahoe is the newsiest aspect of this announcement.

On Friday, April 19th, from 4-7pm, a new Rail Jam Competition is here at Palisades Tahoe.

This is a new event incorporating terrain parks and fun, friendly competition, with six exciting features to conquer in front of three judges.

The action-packed event will be viewable from the KT Deck.

There will be separate age groups for youth and adults and four disciplines: Women's Ski, Women's Snowboard, Men's Ski, and Men's Snowboard. Competitors have the chance to win fantastic prizes, including cash rewards and sponsor goodies.

Following the rail jam, Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival returns to The Village at Palisades Tahoe on Saturday, April 20th, for one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the area.

This free community event takes place from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. with opportunities for the everyone to learn about recycling, composting, renewable energy, and sustainability through hands-on activities. This event is all ages.

The festival will feature live music, a "trashion" show, raffles and educational booths.

Then, that same day, Spring Tracks is back for its’ third season. On Saturday, April 20 at 5 pm, Spring Tracks kicks off with a free live performance featuring G. Love on the KT Deck.
