€40m midfielder could leave Man Utd after one year – he is a target for Milan

AC Milan have got Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on their list of targets ahead of the summer window, a report claims.

Van de Beek only joined United for £35m (€40m) from Ajax last summer but has so far struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford, making just 19 Premier League appearances in total and just three starts.

The 24-year-old was brought in to compliment pieces like Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in United’s midfield but is understood to have become frustrated at a lack of opportunities and at a crucial stage in his development too.

Given the amount paid out 12 months ago by the Red Devils a permanent deal is unlikely, but he could be a profitable loan opportunity for the Rossoneri if they decide to let him go.
