It is a case of stating the obvious, but victory over Tottenham is all that Manchester City can settle for tomorrow night. A loss will leave them relying on results going their way during Arsenal’s Premier League clash clash with Everton on the final day of the Premier League season. A draw against Spurs does leave the possibility of goal difference deciding the title. But in all honesty, three points is all City can settle for against Ange Postecoglou’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tomorrow night.

Tomorrow night’s match promises to be an entertaining affair. Both teams play attractive football and will likely go toe to toe throughout their pivotal Premier League encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. If the game follows that pattern, a nervy night lies in wait. But that is the best part of this stage of the season. The stakes will be at their highest, and it will again be the case for Manchester City tomorrow night against Tottenham.

But what awaits tomorrow night is what Pep Guardiola’s squad has worked all season for. They have followed last season’s treble success with another dominant campaign. At times, the Manchester City squad has battled fatigue as they chase a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title. They now know what is required to create history this season. Two wins are required against Tottenham and West Ham. But to get to the final day with their destiny in their own hands, Manchester City must beat Tottenham tomorrow night.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference before tomorrow night’s match, Pep Guardiola told the media that he knows his team must beat Tottenham. He told the media: “We have just one option, win the game. We will go from there. I have a theory as a manager. What we have done yesterday is over. (From the last four Premier League games) 15 goals is fine and gives us the points to be here. It doesn’t give you an extra thing tomorrow for when we start the game. We know if we don’t win, we will not win the Premier League. It’s what we have to do to know exactly what they are as a team.”

Manchester City must take all three points against Tottenham tomorrow night. No matter how the game pans out, it is all they can leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with come the final whistle.
