Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron is set to remain at the club this winter.

The Magpies had been hoping to sell the Paraguayan attacker to the Saudi Pro League.

However, The Mail states that Newcastle could not convince Almiron to move.

The two clubs were ready to do a deal of around 17 million, which would have helped the Magpies from an FFP perspective.

However, the 29-year-old wants to stay and fight for his place in Edde Howe's team.

Almiron is settled in Tyneside and has no desire to move to the MIddle East at present.
