Jozy Altidore's second half goal helped push the United States men's national team to a 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory against Honduras, pushing the US closer to a trip to next year's tournament in Brazil.
United States manager Jurgen Klinsmann made few changes in the midfield and backfield against Honduras. DeMarcus Beasley missed the match serving a one-game suspension because of yellow card accumulation. Beasley had started the previous six matches at left back and Klinsmann has put German-born Fabian Johnson in Beasley's spot.
Graham Zusi and Jermaine Jones returned to midfield after sitting out a 2-0 victory over Panama last week. Zusi sat out because of yellow card accumulation. Jones was cleared to play after being held out when he suffered a mild concussion in a 2-1 victory over Jamaica on June 7.
