‘Amazing Talent’ Making Slow Return to Health

As Manchester United’s struggles continue to grow, there is hope on the horizon. Amad Diallo, the 21-year-old Ivorian playmaker, is back on the training ground in Carrington. A Summer injury had previously sidelined the youngster, but the Red Devil’s official website revealed that he was “running out on the grass” for the first time this season.

Amad Diallo Finally Nearing Return from Injury

Pre-Season Injury

After picking up a knee injury during the club’s pre-season tour in the United States, Diallo has been unable to train as United endure a tough start to their domestic and continental campaigns. The Ivorian would likely have featured for Erik ten Hag by now and his depth will be welcomed once he returns to match-day fitness.

Last year’s winner of the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year in the Championship, Diallo’s stellar campaign for Sunderland nearly helped them secure promotion back to the Premier League. His loan deal ended and immediately the Dutch manager utilized the youngster in various Summer friendlies until his untimely injury.

Diallo’s United Importance

United’s website assured its supporters that the player would “not be rushed into action.” 13 goals in 37 league fixtures last season was a huge output from the former Atalanta player. Sunderland’s coach, Tony Mowbray, described the winger/midfielder as someone who has “amazing talent.” Limited appearances with the first team leave supporters wondering how ready the Ivorian is for a brutal Premier League season.

Injuries and troubles in front of the net leave Ten Hag with few options, though. When Diallo is back to 100% health he will join the Red Devils and start picking up more experience in the English top flight. With luck, he will have a strong campaign that both establishes him as a regular and lifts his team out of their current sorrows.
