Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti looks to be an injury doubt for the Serie A match against Inter Milan after the international break.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the 20-year-old has pulled out of the Italy Under-21 national team training camp.

Midfield is not an area of the pitch where Juventus coach Max Allegri will want to lose any more players.

That’s putting it mildly.

Midfielder Manuel Locatelli is currently out with a rib fracture. This is keeping the former Sassuolo and AC Milan from participating in the international break with Italy.

Then, the likes of Nicolo Fagioli and Paulo Pogba are also out. They are facing bans for betting and doping respectively.

Therefore, things have looked a bit thin on the ground for the Bianconeri in midfield recently.

That hasn’t stopped the Turin giants from going on an impressive winning run.

Allegri has gotten the best out of the players he’s had available.

One has been young midfielder Miretti. The 20-year-old scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina.

Juventus Midfielder Fabio Miretti An Injury Doubt For Inter Clash

Naturally the form of a player like Miretti, a young player who came through the academy, has been welcome development for Juventus given their issues in midfield.

But now it is Miretti who could be the latest player to be absent.

The Bianconeri midfielder had been part of the Italy Under-21 squad during the international break.

But he has dropped out of the Azzurrini squad with an injury, Sky reports.

Therefore, Miretti will return to the Juventus training centre to work on trying to recover in time for the return from the international break.

But there is no guarantee that the young Italian will be fit in time for Juventus’s first match back from the break.

And it is a big one. The Bianconeri host Inter in a top-of-the-table Derby d’Italia clash.

Juventus coach Allegri will obviously be hoping to have as full a squad as possible for that match.
