Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is delighted with the Brazilian influence through the club.

Arteta spoke with ESPN Brasil about technical director Edu and the Brazilians in his squad.

He said, "From the moment they brought Edu, it was an absolute success. He changed my life, because he had the courage to trust me without having been a coach, in such a big club and in a difficult moment. To do that you have to have a lot of personality."

What is your opinion on Gabriel?

"A central defender must have presence and someone at his side who understands him. I think he has taken a very important step on a personal level, in terms of maturity, family stability, which has helped him become more serene and moreover he has started to find Saliba at his side. It's no coincidence that he is continually improving."

Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli who are not starters at the moment.

"They are happy with where we are as a team, but obviously everyone here wants to play more, but these are decisions that I feel all the time. They have both been very important this season and that's life: when you have the opportunity, you have to take it and show it on the pitch."

How do you explain the fact that Gabriel Jesus plays less?

"He played a lot here, he played a lot with me. He was very important, but he had an injury, he lost momentum, the team recovered and you have to respect that, but it's part of the game. The moment will come when he will gain more space and it will be important again."
