Gyan wants to fully fit for Egypt clash
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan hopes to be fully fit for the crucial 2014 World Cup play-offs against Egypt.
The Al Ain attacker played through the pain barrier during the country’s hard fought 2-1 win over Zambia in the final group D game at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
The 27-year-old is yet to fully recover from a knock he picked up during Al Ain Super Cup defeat against rivals Al Ahli last month.
But the former Sunderland hitman is hoping to be 100% fit to play an influential role against the Pharaohs in the two-legged ties.
“I have not fully recovered but hopefully I should be fit for the game against Egypt,” Gyan said
“I was not fit when we beat Zambia in Kumasi and so I’m still in the healing process.
“It’s my prayer that all our players will be fully fit to face the Egyptians. If we’re all fit, I believe we can beat them to qualify to the World Cup.
Gyan played a part in Al Ain 3-1 defeat against Al Shabab in the AG League on Sunday.
