Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde was happy with their spirit for their 2-2 draw with Osasuna.

Iaki Williams and an Asier Villalibre goal in stoppage time earned the point after Osasuna had jumped 2-0 ahead.

"We salvaged a point, but we wanted more," Valverde said afterwards. "The reality is that we played very well and we were consistent at certain moments of the game.

"They scored two goals in two strange situations, especially the second one. We pushed as we always do, but we needed to be more clinical."

He added: "We were behind and needed to fight back but every time we lost possession it was too easy for them to get close to our box and we couldn't get past their press, which is something we're generally quite good at.

"When you try and don't generate enough or that doesn't translate into goals and it can lead to frustration. We went from 1-0 to 0-1 in a second and that hurt us.

"It's important because it's something we really want to maintain. Last year these games were always went the other way and even with our enthusiasm we struggled to get draws.

"We lost games which we shouldn't have. So, above all, it's good for us to feel that we're not vulnerable at home."
