Atletico Madrid’s snooping at Valencia continues after registering interest in third player

In recent weeks, Atletico Madrid have been linked with two of Valencia’s most important players: those being Giorgi Mamardashvili (as a possible replacement for Jan Oblak) and also centre-back Cristhian Mosquera. They’re not stopping there, and they’re now looking at another member of Ruben Baraja’s impressive young squad.

As per Salva Gomis, Atleti are showing interest in Pepelu. The 25-year-old has had a very good season with Los Che, whom he signed for last summer from bitter rivals Levante, in what was a very controversial move at the time.

Atletico Madrid are said to be considering a move for another midfielder in the summer, specifically a new “6” that can rotate with club captain Koke Resurreccion. Pepelu would certainly be a very good signing, as he has shown himself to be one of the best pivots in La Liga this season, although Valencia are unlikely to allow him to leave without putting up a fight.
