We are set for a blockbuster final at the 2023 ATP Barcelona Open, as World #2 Carlos Alcaraz squares off against World #5 Stefanos Tsitsipas. Who will win this absolutely enthralling matchup? As always, we share our take on the match with you. Who do you think will lift the trophy?

ATP Barcelona Final Prediction

Carlos Alcaraz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

As juicy as this matchup is, there’s honestly only one way to predict it. Stefanos Tsitsipas has been great but not spectacular for his entire career. The Greek is a top player and won’t lose out of nowhere, but he also has no superlative weapons that can tackle the best in the world. Sure, he’s had Djokovic on the brink (in a French Open final, no less), but that’s the exception, not the rule.

Alcaraz, meanwhile, was an obvious prodigy from his first pro appearance. A year ago, it was clear the Spaniard was a future star. And less than six months later, he was a US Open champion and World #1. We can perhaps quibble about whether he would have broken through this early if not for Djokovic’s vaccine status, but the fact remains that he’s a cut above everyone else on Tour right now.

The Spaniard is 3-0 in his career in the matchup against the Greek–including a three-set win at this event last year. In a huge matchup like this, we have to stick with Alcaraz over Tsitsipas.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
