Milan ultras have intensified their protest against the club with a series of banners criticising the lack of ambition and an eerie silence during their game with Cagliari.

The Rossoneri had already been in an awkward atmosphere for the 3-3 draw with Genoa, as the Curva Sud sat in silence throughout, then walked out with 15 minutes to go.

This time around, the protest seems to have spread to other areas of the stands, as different fan groups joined in the silent show of force.

It was considerably more quiet, as last time considerably more Genoa supporters made the trip and were at least cheering on their team.

There were also quite a few empty seats at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for one of the final home matches of the Serie A season.

The ultras did continue to put up a series of banners making clear that they were not angry specifically with coach Stefano Pioli and the players so much as the club hierarchy.

“We demand and deserve a strong and winning club. Milano does not settle,” read one banner.
