It’s safe to say that Bayern Munich’s managerial search is not going well. They’d already been knocked back by the likes of Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann, and earlier this week, they were rejected by Ralf Rangnick, current head coach of the Austrian national team.

With Thomas Tuchel set to leave at the end of the season, a new manager is required by the Bundesliga giants. After these series of rejections, they’ve now turned their attention to former Spain, Real Madrid and Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui, as reported by sources in Germany (via MD).

Lopetegui has been out of work since leaving Premier League side Wolves just before the start of this season. He was recently passed up for the AC Milan job, but could now be set to take over in Bavaria from the summer.

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag is also on Bayern’s reported shortlist, but Lopetegui has an advantage, in that he is currently unattached.
